How To Apply

Those seeking admission to PTS must apply in prescribed application forms, which are available on our website www.ptsindia.com.

If it is not possible to download from the website, please send an email to the Registrar Admission at admissions@ptsindia.com.  

 

             

         

Applications received before 31 December will be considered in January, and the applicant will be informed of the decision by the end of January.

The next lot of applications will be considered during the first week of April.

The last date to receive applications without a late fee will be 20 June. After 20 June, a late fee of  ₹ 1000 will be charged from the candidates before the application can be considered. Ordinarily, no applications will be considered after 20 June. 

Education Services

Presbyterian Theological Seminary (PTS) was established in 1969 to train men and women from a Bible-believing, Reformed perspective for service in God’s Kingdom

International Hubs

Worldwide, Presbyterian and Reformed churches are a large communion. While historically their roots are in Europe and America, they are strong in many countries of Asia and Africa as well. South Korea has very large Presbyterian churches.

Bachelor’s and Master’s

Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) course is a primary level, ministry-oriented programme of theological education. Master of Divinity (MDiv) is a three-year (minimum 90 credit hours), post-graduate degree program. Master of Theology (MTh) is a two-year, post-graduate research, residential program.

University Life

The Seminary community is divided into a number of small groups under the leadership of Teachers and Staff members to encourage fellowship within the PTS community in an informal and relaxed setting.

The following forms and documents must be received in the office before an application can be considered.

Application for Admission

This must be completed in the applicant’s own handwriting. Name and Address must be in BLOCK letters.

Photographs

Three recent passport size photographs of the applicant.

Personal Statement of Christian Experience

This must be completed by the applicant in his own handwriting. It must clearly show why the applicant believes he is a Christian, and is called to the ministry. Extra paper may be used if desired.

Baptism Certificate

An attested copy of the applicant’s baptism certificate (not returnable).

Recommendation Forms

Three recommendations in the prescribed form by the applicant’s pastor and two Christian leaders in the area who know the applicant well. The person recommending must either send the form directly to the Seminary or give the recommendation in a sealed envelope to the applicant.

Medical Form

Must be completed by an MBBS doctor. Failure to disclose a major illness or addiction will be sufficient reason for dismissal from the Seminary. Relevant lab tests must be attached to the form.

Financial Statement by Sponsor

 Must be completed by the. Sponsor, and should clearly indicate the amount the sponsor is willing to pay.

Pledge

After carefully studying the rules, the applicant must sign the pledge in in the presence of two witnesses as required.

The Waiver Form

This form must be signed by the parent/legal guardian/sponsor in the presence of witnesses as required.

Mark Lists and Certificates

A copy each of all mark lists and certificates (Class 10 and above), attested by a person not below the rank of a Senior Secondary School Principal, Block Development Officer, Sub-Inspector of Police, or a Medical Officer of a Government Hospital. The applicant may also submit copies of any other testimonials or records (non-returnable). If admitted, the student must bring with him the original certificates and present them to the Registrar for verification at the time of registration. The originals must be deposited in the Seminary office till the student leaves the Seminary.

Application Fee

The application fee of ₹. 500 may be paid in the following manner.

  • Money Order –  to the Registrar, PTS.
  • Demand Draft – payable to Presbyterian Theological Seminary

Things To Know First

The Common Application is required for students applying to any degree. You’ll be able to choose your campus and program s that you are interested.

You will need :

  • Scanned documents and forms sent as email attachments are acceptable.
  • No applicant may proceed to the Seminary unless he receives an admission letter.
  • Upon receipt of admission letter, the applicant must confirm his admission by sending an email to the Registrar within the specified time and by sending ₹ 20,000 (BTh) or ₹ 30,000 (MDiv). ₹ 15,000 of this amount is not refundable if an applicant fails to join the Seminary after confirming as above. Those not meeting these two requirements will be put on a waiting list.
